Untuk mengangkat batu, terlebih dulu harus berwudu sesuai dengan ajaran Islam. Lalu berdoa kepada Tuhan meminta apa yang diinginkan, misalnya jodoh. Kemudian, badan membungkuk dan tangan kanan dan kiri menarik batu ke atas pangkuan. Kalau bisa ditarik ke pangkuan, maka apa yang diminta akan terkabul.
Percaya atau tidak, itu pilihan Anda. Yang jelas, Batu Angkek-angkek merupakan salah satu aset Minangkabau yang patut dijaga.
2. ikan sungai janiah(sungai jernih)
Ikan sakti ini berada di sebuah kolam yang berada di daerah Sungai Janiah, Kabupaten Agam, Sumatera Barat. Kolam besar yang banyak ikanya ini sunguh terawat dengan rapi air kolam ikan sakti inipun sangat jernih para pengunjung bisa langsung melihat ikan yang ada di dalam kolam. Ikan yang ada di kolampun jumlahnya banyak bahkan ada yang berukuran sampai 2 meter.
Tidak ada orang yang bernai menagkap ikan di kolam ini sebab takut akan kutukan ikan sakti yakni siapa saja yang memakan kan sakti di kolam ini akan tertipa musibah.
Asal mula ikan yang ada di Sungai Janiah dari penjelmaan anak manusia dan anak jin yang telah dikutuk oleh Tuhan, karena kedua makhluk yang berlainan alam ini telah melanggar janji yang telah mereka sepakati.
Versi Muchtar Tuanku Sampono
Muchtar Tuanku Sampono yang berusia 96 tahun, tokoh masyarakat Sungai Janiah mengatakan, ikan di Sungai Janiah ini tidak “sakti”. Ikan tersebut berasal dari anak yang hilang. Malam harinya ibu anak tersebut bermimpi agar dibuat nasi kunyit (nasi kuning) dan dipanggil anaknya di Sungai Janiah.
“Sejak dulu tidak ada yang berani memakan ikan di Sungai Janiah ini, karena mereka enggan saja karena sepertinya memakan manusianya saja, bahkan Belanda dan Jepang tidak berani menjamah ikan ini,”
Menurut Tuanku Sampono tidak ada yang tahu jenis dan nama ikan tersebut. Ikan seperti ikan ‘gariang’, namun kata orang Jambi ikan ini sejenis ikan Kalari. Seperti yang dikatakan oleh Tuanku Sampono ikan-ikan tersebut sejak dulu tidak terlihat anak-anak ikannya.

Orang bunian atau sekedar bunian adalah mitos sejenis makhluk halus dari wilayah Minangkabau, Sumatera Barat, Indonesia. Berdasar mitos tersebut, orang bunian berbentuk menyerupai manusia dan tinggal di tempat-tempat sepi, di rumah-rumah kosong yang telah ditinggalkan penghuninya dalam waktu lama.
Istilah ini dikenal di wilayah Istilah orang bunian juga kadang-kadang dikaitkan dengan istilah dewa di Minangkabau, pengertian "dewa" dalam hal ini sedikit berbeda dengan pengertian dewa dalam ajaran Hindu maupun Buddha. "Dewa" dalam istilah Minangkabau berarti sebangsa makhluk halus yang tinggal di wilayah hutan, di rimba, di pinggir bukit, atau di dekat pekuburan. Biasanya bila hari menjelang matahari terbenam di pinggir bukit akan tercium sebuah Aroma yang biasa dikenal dengan nama "masakan dewa" atau "samba dewa". Aroma tersebut mirip bau kentang goreng. Hal ini dapat berbeda-beda namun mirip, berdasarkan kepercayaan lokal masyarakat Minangkabau di daerah berbeda. Bukit Tambun Tulang ini juga kisah legenda yang bertempat di sekitar jalan yang menghubungkan Kayu Tanam dengan Padang Panjang melintasi Bukit Barisan. Konon dulu kala, terdapat sebuah bukit yang penuh dengan tulang belulang manusia.
Kisah ini menceritakan sulitnya orang dari pesisir untuk menuju pusat negeri Minangkabau, karena harus mendaki bukit, kemudian dirampok dan dibunuh di sebuah bukit yang dinamakan "Tambun Tulang". Namun sampai hari ini, belum ada penelitian arkeologi atau sejarah atas mitos ini.
Legenda Bukit Tambun Tulang ini kemudian banyak menjadi inspirasi kisah-kisah fiksi. Penulis Makmur Hendrik misalnya, menjadikan Bukit Tambun Tulang ini sebagai latar belakang novel "Giring-giring Perak". Kemudian Bastion Tito, pernah menulis salah satu seri novel Wiro Sableng berjudul "Banjir Darah di Tambun Tulang"
5. batu malin kundang
Batu Malin Kundang adalah sebuah batu yang menyerupai manusia tertelungkup di tanah di Pantai Air Manis, Padang, Sumatera Barat. Menurut masyarakat sekitar, batu tersebut diyakini sebagai Malin Kundang yang telah dikutuk oleh ibunya untuk menjadi batu karena bersikap durhaka. Kebenaran legenda tersebut diragukan apakah nyata atau tidak.
